Keeping up with the Blogs

When I first started working on this website in early 2018, I had planned to write a blog about once a month. I thought it would be a great way for me to put my thoughts on paper while also sharing my passion for photography and a bit of what’s been going on in my life. Well, the best laid plans have a way of not always going according to plan. I started out in 2018 with good intentions, and while I didn’t get one out each month, I did manage to do six that first year! It’s been downhill ever since, with only two in the past two years, but that’s okay!

I’ve been keeping busy, learning new skills and techniques, taking on-line courses, and sharing and learning from other photographers around the country and world. If there’s a silver lining to the past 18 months, it’s that I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many new people in various FB photo groups and we all share the same passion. I remain involved with publicity and the monthly newsletter for Chester County Camera Club and other club activities and challenges. I’ve also been honored to have had a few images accepted in various regional photo exhibits.

We haven’t taken any extravagant vacations due to travel restrictions and covid, but have taken some nice day trips. We went to the Outer Banks where I captured some great sunrises, and we’re headed to the mountains next month so I’m hoping for some lakefront sunsets. We’ve been riding our bikes on some amazing rail trails and there’s always a camera in my bag to capture things you just can’t see from the road.

My volunteer work at Longwood Gardens continues to be personally rewarding and is also helping to grow my photo skills. In addition to images of flowers and landscapes, I’ve been shooting people - candid shots only - and I’m enjoying it more than I thought I would.

I’ve been trying to make a conscious effort to add new images to the site on a more regular basis - and maybe a blog every once in awhile - take a look and see what’s new and what we’ve been up to during the past year. Thanks for taking the time to read this and browse my photos. Enjoy!
