WORKSHOPS AND PRESENTATIONS
Still Life Workshop
Florals make a simple but elegant still life composition
Carol co-led a fun and creative still life workshop for members of the Chester County Camera Club in April 2023. Together with other presenters, Betsy Wilson and Ginia Apostolacus, they covered the basics of how to set up and photograph traditional, whimsical, and meaningful still life images. This was a fun, hands-on workshop that encouraged creativity and allowed the participants to experiment with florals, heirlooms, tools, and more! Some creative lighting techniques and exploring the use of various backgrounds were also covered in these well-attended sessions.
Macro and Close-up Photography Workshop
All the tiny details are visible in macro photography
Carol co-led an informative and interactive, hands-on workshop for the Chester County Camera Club with fellow photographer, Betsy Wilson. Carol and Betsy shared their tips and techniques for capturing the tiny details of the macro world. Workshop participants then had a chance to put this new knowledge to work as they were able to practice shooting various set-ups. (January 2019)
GARDEN PHOTOGRAPHY — More than Just Flowers
The Exhibition Hall is a delight during any season at Longwood Gardens.
Everyone loves flowers! Just walk around any botanical garden or arboretum and you'll see people everywhere taking photos of flowers, but garden photography is more than just flowers. It's trees, bridges, structures, water features and more, all elements that contribute to the garden as a whole. Carol shared with the Chester County Camera Club how she incorporates these elements into her photographs to capture the essence of the garden. (Nov 2017)
